  • How Long Will My Project Take?
The duration of your landscaping project depends on several factors, including the scope of work, the complexity of the design, the materials required, and the weather conditions. For example, a simple project like planting or installing outdoor lighting may take just a few days, while more extensive projects such as retaining wall construction, hardscaping, or full landscape redesigns can take several weeks. Once we assess your specific needs and develop a detailed plan, we can provide a more accurate timeline. We prioritize efficiency without sacrificing quality, ensuring that your project is completed on time and to your satisfaction. We’ll keep you updated throughout the process and make any necessary adjustments based on unforeseen factors.
  • Does Elmwood offer maintenace services?
No, Elmwood does not offer maintenance services for residential customers.
  • Can I change my project while its in progress?
Yes, it is possible to make changes to your project while it is in progress; however, it’s important to understand that modifications will result in delays and additional costs. Changes to the design, materials, or scope of work can affect the project timeline and require adjustments in labor, permits, or material orders. As a result, we will provide a revised estimate and timeline to reflect these changes. To minimize any disruptions, we recommend discussing potential adjustments with us as early as possible, ideally before the project begins. Our goal is to ensure that you’re completely satisfied with the final result, and we’ll work with you to make sure your vision is brought to life while maintaining transparency about any impact on the project’s completion.
  • Are there credit card fees?
Yes, a 2% fee will be applied to all credit card transactions.
  • Can my deposit be refunded?
No, all deposits for projects are non-refundable.

  • What are the lines in the concrete?
The lines or joints as we call them, control the cracking of the concrete. We space them properly to allow the concrete to crack inside this area instead of in the face. This is normal process for installing concrete relief joints.
  • Do you warranty cracks?
No, we do not offer a warranty for cracks in concrete installations. While we are committed to providing top-quality landscape design and construction services across the Wasatch Front, and take proactive measures to minimize cracking, it is important to note that concrete will naturally develop cracks over time.
  • What types of concrete work does ElmWood Landscape specialize in?
ElmWood Landscape specializes in high-quality concrete work for residential and commercial properties in Utah. They offer durable and custom-designed solutions for driveways, patios, sidewalks, and more.
  • Are my plants dying?
New plants often experience stress when first moved to their new location. This can manifest as drooping leaves, stunted growth, or a general lack of vigor, especially in the heat of summer. Allow your plants ample time to acclimate to their new environment. Ensure that the drip zone is properly configured for optimal watering. Avoid fertilizing immediately, as this can place additional stress on the plant.
  • What are the lines in my concrete mow strip?
The lines in the concrete are expansion joints, designed to allow the concrete to flex and accommodate natural shifts in the earth as it adjusts through the seasons.
  • Why is my sod yellow?
Improper watering Under-watering: Sod needs consistent moisture, especially right after installation. If the sod is too dry, it can turn yellow as it struggles to establish roots. Over-watering: Excessive water can drown the roots, leading to yellowing due to lack of oxygen and potential fungal growth. Heat Stress. High temperatures or prolonged sun exposure can cause the sod to dry out and yellow, especially if it's not adequately watered. Pet Urine. Dog or cat urine can create yellow patches in sod due to its high nitrogen content. To promote successful establishment, we recommend staying off new sod for the first two (2) weeks. Additionally, follow our prescribed watering schedule diligently during the initial three (3) weeks after installation.
